Positano, Italy is one of the most tranquil and romantic places on this planet. I learned of this place from a movie entitled "Only You" with Robert Downey Jr and Marisa Tomei. The scenery in this movie was fascinating. Beautiful small luxurious hotels are found everywhere here. A labyrinth of narrow streets wind through this town with quaint little shops selling lemoncino and ceramics. Beauty and elegance is king in Positano. Most hotels are very expensive here. Even the very limited number of 3 star hotels were expensive. 2 Star hotels…nonexistent. Enhancing your visit here is the wonderful smells of gourmet foods being served in many of the fine restaurants, the flowers and scents of salty Mediterrean air. The architecture is amazingly simple, clean and beautiful fusing nature with Italian design. Interiors of resorts feature plain white walls with no straight angles. Everything is curved and enhanced with plants growing up the walls and spaced liberally around the rooms. Temperate weather and windows open, allow long white curtains to blow in the salty wind. I only wish we had more then a day here, so I will have to return one day. If your thinking about getting married and want a great honeymoon spot, Positano is a perfect 10... if you have the cash.
