I have found paradise and it is called Corfu. This is the most beautiful place I have ever visited in my life. The island of Corfu reminds me of Capri, Italy but much larger. There is an abundance of natural beauty throughout the island. Once you are in a place you don't even want to leave to see anywhere else because it is so tranquil, beautiful and simply mesmerizing! I can easily just sit all day and do nothing and just enjoy the beauty, cool dry temperate weather, and the delicious Greek cuisine.

When at Paleokastritsa the western part of Corfu that looks towards Italy, you just sit in awe of such a place. When here we hiked up the hill and visited this beautiful monastary enjoying superb island vistas. We took a boat ride around the bays and entered into some caves and one that had a cool geological formation they call the Blue Hole. The blues were amazing and the fish loved this spot as it was swarming with them.

At Paleokastritsa I found this place called the Grotta Bar. To reach the bar you have to walk down these stairs huging the cliff. When you arrive you are treated to chill ambient music much like Cafe del Mar and gorgeous views. The bar meanders down some rocks and there is a rope to climb up the cliff for cliff diving, a diving board and areas for swimming. I truely wanted to stay here a few days and just hang out here. This was paradise. What made it better was the lack of people. It was viritually empty which made it better.

Back at Corfu town we visited the Pontikonnissi monastary with Mouse island in the background. This is a famous place for taking pictures of Corfu. Yes, it was beautiful. In Corfu town the building are very old with a lot of character. The fortresses, smells of pastries, varying hues in a blue sea make Corfu an amazing place. If you ever travel to Greece, DO NOT pass up visiting Corfu!
