----- Colorado, USA ---------------

Most people consider Colorado as a mountainous state, well they are 2/3 correct. The eastern 1/3 is rolling hills leading to the great plains. Although I had visited Colorado on a few other occasions, I had not really stayed more then a couple days as I had just passed through. This time I stayed with a couple long time friends Rob and Hope whom live on the edge where the plains meet the Rocky Mountains. Then again Rob has always lived on the edge.

While in Colorado I visited 2 ski resorts them being Copper Mountain and Breckenridge. They were both great places, but I was not ready for it. Living at sea level and jumping to 10,000 feet elevation the day after my arrival, not eating correctly and having a brewski killed me on the slopes. My legs were killing me and the great joy i usually find in skiing was absent on those days. The highlight of the trip to me was Red Rocks park. The geological formations of the rocks are strikingly beautiful. It is so cool that they actually have concerts here. Definately better then being indoors at a show.
